Foreground, Middleground, and Background

I'm always looking for new lesson ideas for teaching the third graders about foreground, middleground, and background. We did these simple glue and pastel images this year, but do you all have any good lessons that work for you? I'm picking your brains!

My Kindergarten artists were working on these cute snomen collages this week. Some of them are too cute. We did all of the painting the first session and decorated the next. It's a great way to use up miscellaneous crafty supplies and work on fine motor skill development.
